EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, THE CENTER FOR ARTS EDUCATION (NEW YORK)
The Center for Arts Education, a leading advocate for and provider of arts education in New York City public schools, seeks a passionate and mission-driven Executive Director to spearhead the effort to expand children’s access to high-quality arts education.
Since its founding in 1996, CAE has provided services to tens of thousands of students, influenced major policy
and practice changes, developed new models for effective, integrated, twenty-first century creative learning, and served as the leading voice in the national effort to restore the arts as an essential element in every child’s education. The next Executive Director will be a compelling public advocate, and in collaboration with the
Board of Directors, be the visionary architect of CAE’s exciting next chapter.
Today, CAE’s model programming serves 200 public schools and 5,000-7,000 underserved students,
750 families, 500+ administrators and educators, and 1,000 elected officials and education stakeholders annually. Advocacy efforts spearheaded by CAE helped to spur the de Blasio Administration to invest $92 million over four years to expand access to arts education citywide, and CAE has also been a three-time award winner of a
$1.1 million Federally-funded research grant to serve middle school students and document the impact of
arts learning on them.
